On Thursday, the polar bear Hudson turned seventeen.

Since making his zoo debut in December 2006 at the former Bear Grottos, he has become a visitor favorite, according to the zoo.

He received special goodies made by the animal care team to help him celebrate, such as an ice cake topped with his favorite fish, herring, and another ice treat with raisins on top.

Hudson also received a barrel filled with his preferred enrichment materials.

He is at the Great Bear Wilderness habitat for the remaining Holiday Magic dates, which are December 14 to 17, December 21 to 23, and December 26 to 31 from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m., if you would like to stop by and wish him a happy birthday.
